Welcome to the Good Shepherd!

The Good Shepherd is the Cathedral Church of the Anglican Diocese of Perú. We have been serving the English-speaking community of Lima and praising God for over 160 years. We also have services in Spanish.

We would like to welcome you to worship with us and join us in our various programs of Christian service. We are located in the Lima district of Miraflores, near Ovalo Gutiérrez on Av. Santa Cruz.

A cathedral is the church from which a bishop performs his official duties. It is looked after by a Dean, who, in the case of the Good Shepherd, is also the Rector of the parish congregation. The Very Rev. Canon John H. Park is the current Dean.

The Dean is also pastor of the English speaking congregation. The Rev. Canon David Limo is pastor of the Spanish speaking congregation.

In 1849, the first Anglican Chaplain, the Reverend John G. Pearson arrived in Lima after 5 years of negotiations with the British Government with the reluctant approval of Peruvian authorities. The Church Of The Good Shepherd started a few years earlier in 1844. It did not have a permanent home, and moved from place to place until settling down in its current location in 1949.
